A tornado touched down last night about 5 miles south of our house on Hwy. 32. There was quite a bit of damage. The fire station in Riverview was heavily damaged, as well as many homes and acres of pine tree plantations. The tornado left a path about a quarter of a mile wide or more for over 20 miles.
We received only heavy winds and a bit of hail. The first two pictures
are of the Riverview Fire Department.
This is the house of the lady who cuts my hair - also her shop. Lots of trees

down and some roof damage, but everyone is OK.
Traffic was pretty backed up - lots of people out looking.

Our electricity was out from around 5 p.m. last night until 1:30 this afternoon. Fortunately, we were able to go up to Scott's mom's cabin in Townsend and spend the night. Scott is heading down to Riverview with his chainsaw and is planning to help some friends whose home was damaged. The pictures don't show how bad it really looked down there. I've never seen anything like it in my life. There were no fatalities and only one serious injury that
I have heard of.
