Aaarrrgghhhh!!!

The other night we got home late from a basketball game and apparently my camera was on the seat and fell in the driveway when I got out. So...is it too obvious to state that the next morning when Scott left, it got RUN OVER!!! So, I will do what Beth does and ask for help from the masses...what should we replace it with? Something CHEAP, but what is the best we can do for cheap? (Perhaps Abram would have some insight here?) Anyway...all that to say, no picture of our tree that I just put up. (Oh, and Beth, sorry...no help here for grandparent gift ideas (unless they like soap!!!))

I'll have Abram give you an idea - how much is cheap? He is out of town right now, but when he gets back, I'll see what he says.
sorry about that. at least you get a new one now!! :)

Hey Cathy, bummer about your camera. It gave me a sick feeling just reading your blog. Let me know what kind of price range you want to stay in and I'll do some research.

Abram, I'm not much of a photographer, so I'd like to stay under $150. What I really want to know is, should I focus on digital zoom, optical zoom or higher pixels? Do I want more pixels than zoom, or vice versa?

Ok Cathy, I have done a little research on cameras in the $150 range. If I were to buy one, I think I would go with the Nikon L3. You can pick it up at Best Buy for like $129. I went and played with it a bit tonight. My second choice would be the Canon Powershot A530. Let me try to answer you question about zooms and pixels. Don't worry about digital zoom, cause once you go pass the optical zoom, your picture will start to look blocky. 5 megapixels is plenty for a simple point and shoot camera. Both the Nikon and the Canon are 5 megapixels. The Canon has a 4x optical zoom and the Nikon only has 3x. I shoot Nikon and really like them, but Canon is really good too. Both cameras shot nice pics, but I guess I just liked how the Nikon felt in my hands. I would recommend going and trying them out and see which one you like the best. Each camera is laid out differently, so it may come down to your preference. Hope this helps and if you have any other questions, feel free to ask. Later, Abram
